Banning Schemes and the Law

Banning Schemes enable owners or managers, or their agents, to exclude individuals from their premises. In this way, they can reduce low-level crime and anti-social behaviour in retail or licensed premises across town- and city-centres, in shopping malls, sports stadia, entertainment venues etc. They must operate in compliance with the law.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) was published by the European Union in May 2016. It will be enshrined as the Data Protection Act 2018 which will become law on 25th May 2018 and replace the 1998 Act.
